Medicine Buddha

The Spiritual Heart of Healing Valley

A sanctuary of healing, compassion and timeless wisdom

A PLACE OF STILLNESS, PRAYER & ENCOUNTER

At the heart of Healing Valley lies the Medicine Buddha - a profound Buddhist symbol of healing, compassion and the aspiration to relieve suffering. The sanctuary is envisioned as the spiritual centre from which the wider Valley unfolds.

Its purpose reaches beyond architecture. It is intended as a place where people from Bhutan and around the world can pause, pray, contemplate, learn and reconnect with something deeper than the speed and demands of ordinary life.

ROOTED IN A LIVING LINEAGE

Healing Valley draws spiritual inspiration from Neyphug, whose principal monastery was first built in 1550 and has served as the seat of the Neyphug Trulku lineage for centuries.

The tradition carried by H.E. the 9th Neytrul Rinpoche brings a living Bhutanese spiritual foundation to the project - one that is practised, taught and transmitted rather than recreated as a theme.

Healing in its widest sense

The word healing can carry different meanings. In medicine it may refer to prevention, diagnosis, treatment, recovery and restoration of function. In spiritual life it can also speak to compassion, acceptance, purification, meaning and freedom from suffering.

Healing Valley does not need to collapse these meanings into one. Its strength lies in allowing them to sit beside one another with clarity and respect: a sacred spiritual centre at the heart of the Valley, and a Health & Longevity pillar that remains clinically responsible and evidence-led.

Open to the world, Rooted in Bhutan

Visitors do not need to arrive with a particular belief. They should arrive with respect. The sanctuary can welcome prayer, meditation, teachings, reflection and quiet encounter while remaining rooted in the Vajrayana Buddhist heritage from which it comes.
